Prophecy & Indicators of Last Days, Part 4

This post will contain 2 Esdras 16 there are parallels with the Revelation, Daniel, and Isaiah 26. Our God has everything well in hand, and we need to guard ourselves against fear, as this feeds the fallen realm. I truly believe demons consume agitated emotions, which would explain the motivation behind the incessant fear narrative so frequently pushed, terror, death, WW3 and viral threats, etc. Fear is not our portion, we dwell with Christ in the heavenlies and our weapons are mighty! Yeshua gave us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Abiding peace from God is our portion in the latter days. As the remnant resist fear ” … let not your heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

2 Esdras 16

Against Babylon, Asia, and Egypt and Syria. Of the evils that shall come upon the world, with admonition how to govern themselves in afflictions. To acknowledge their sins, and to commit themselves to the Lord. Whose mighty providence and justice is to be reverenced.

WOE to you, Babylon and Asia: woe to you, Egypt and Syria.

Gird yourselves with sack cloth, and mourn for your children, and be sorry: for your destruction is at hand.

A sword is sent unto you, and who will turn it back? a fire is sent among you, and who will quench it?

Plagues are sent unto you, and who can drive them away?

May any man drive away a hungry lion in the wood? or quench the fire in stubble when it hath once begun to burn? may one turn against the arrow, that is shot of a strong archer?

The mighty Lord sends the plagues, and who can drive them away? the fire is gone forth in his wrath, and who can quench it?

He shall cast lightnings, and who shall not fear? he shall thunder, and who shall not be afraid?

The Lord shall threaten, and who shall not utterly be broken in pieces at his presence? the earth quakes and the foundation thereof: the sea arises up with waves from the deep, and the waves thereof are troubled, and the fishes thereof, before the Lord and the glory of his power.

For strong is his right hand, and bendeth the bow: his arrows that he shoots, are sharp, and shall not miss, when they begin to be shot into the ends of the world.

Behold, the plagues are sent, and shall not turn again, til they come upon earth.

The fire is kindled, and shall not be put out, til it consumes the foundation of the earth.

As an arrow which is shot of a mighty archer, returns not backward, so the plagues that shall be sent upon earth, shall not turn again.

Woe is me, woe is me: who will deliver me in those days?

The beginning of sorrows and great mourning: the beginning of famine, and great death: the beginning of wars, and the powers shall fear: the beginning of evils, and all shall tremble. What shall I do in these things, when the plagues come?

Behold, famine and plague, and trouble, and anguish are sent as scourges for amendment.

But for all these things they will not turn from their wickedness, nor be always mindful of the scourges.

Behold, vittles shall be so good cheap upon earth, that they shall think themselves to be in good cause: but then shall the evils bud forth upon the earth, even the sword, the famine, shall the sword destroy.

And the dead shall be cast out as dung, and there shall be no man to comfort them: for the earth shall be wasted, and the cities shall be cast down.

There shall be no man left to till the earth, and to sow it: the trees shall give fruit, but who shall gather them?

The grapes shall be ten left, and two of the field, which shall hide themselves in the thick woods, and in the clefts of the rocks.

As when there remain three or four olives in the place where olives grow, or among other trees,

Or as when a vineyard is gathered, there are left some grapes of them that diligently sought through the vineyard:

So in those days there shall be three or four left by them that search their houses with the sword.

And the earth shall be left waste, and the fields thereof shall wax old, and her ways and all her paths shall grow full of thorns, because no man shall travail there through.

The virgins shall mourn, having no bridegrooms: the women shall make lamentation, having no husbands: their daughters shall mourn having no helpers.

In the wars shall their bridegrooms be destroyed, and their husbands shall perish with famine.

But, ye servants of the Lord, hear these things, and mark them.

Behold the word of the Lord, receive it: believe not the gods of whom the Lord speaks: behold the plagues draw near, and are not slack.

As a travailing woman which in the ninth month brings forth her son, when the hours of birth is come, two or three hours before the pains come upon her body, and when the child comes to the birth, they tarry not a whit,

So shall not the plagues be slack to come upon the earth, and the world shall mourn, and sorrows shall come upon it on every side.

O my people, hear my word: make you read to the battle, and in the troubles be even as strangers upon earth.

He that sells, let him be as he that flees his way: and he that buys, as one that will lose.

Who so occupies merchandise, as he that wins not: and he that builds, as he that shall not dwell therein:

He that sows, as one that shall not reap: he that cuts the vine, as he that shall not gather the grapes:

They that marry, as they that shall get no children: and they that marry not, so as the widows.

Therefore they that labour, labour in vain.

For strangers will reap their fruits, and spoil their goods, and overthrow their houses, and take their children captive: for in captivity and famine shall they get their children.

And they that occupy their merchandise with covetousness, the more they deck their cities, their houses, their possessions, and their own persons,

So much more will I be angry against them for their sins, saith the Lord.

As a whore envies an honest and virtuous woman,

So shall righteousness hate iniquity, when she decks herself, and shall accuse her openly, when he shall come that shall bridle the author of all sin upon earth.

And therefore be you not like thereunto, nor to the works thereof: for or ever it be long, iniquity shall be taken away out of the earth, and righteousness shall reign among you.

Let not the sinner say, that he has not sinned: for coals of fire shall burn upon his head, which saith, I have not sinned before the Lord god and his glory.

Behold, the Lord knows all the works of men, their imaginations, their thoughts and their hearts.

For as soon as he said, Let the earth be made, it was made: let the heaven be made, and it was created.

By his word were the stars established, and he knows the number of them.

He searched the depth, and the treasures thereof: he has measured the sea, and what is contained.

He hath shut the sea in the midst of the waters, and with his word has he hung the earth upon the waters.

He spread out the heaven like a vault: upon the waters has he founded it.

In the desert hath he made springs of water, and poles upon the top of the mountains, to pour out floods from the high rock to water the earth.

He made man, and put his heart in the midst of the body, and gave him breath, life and understanding.

And the Spirit of the almighty God, which made all things, and has searched all the hid things in the secrets of the earth,

He knows your inventions, and what you imagine in your heart when you sin and would hide your sins.

Therefore hath the Lord searched and sought out all your works, and will put you all to shame.

And when your sins are brought forth before men, you shall be confounded, and your own sins shall stand as your accusers in that day.

What will you do, or how will you hide your sins before God and his Angels?

Behold, God himself is the judge: fear him: cease from your sins, and forget your iniquities, and meddle no more from henceforth with them: so shall God lead you forth, and deliver you from all trouble.

For behold, the heat of a great multitude is kindled against you, and they shall take away certain of you, and shall slay you for meat to the idols.

And they that consent unto them, shall be had in derision and in reproach, and trodden under foot.

For in every place and cities that are near, there shall be great insurrection against those that fear the Lord.

They shall be like mad men: they shall spare none: they shall spoil, and waste such as yet fear the Lord.

For they then shall waste and spoil their goods, and cast them out of their houses.

Then shall the trial of my chosen appear, as the gold is tried by the fire.

Hear, o ye my beloved, saith the Lord: behold, the days of trouble are at hand, but I will deliver you from them: be not you afraid: doubt not, for God is your captain.

Who so keeps my commandments and precepts, saith the Lord God, let not your sins weigh you down, and let not your iniquities lift themselves up.

Woe unto them that are bound with their sins, and covered with their iniquities, as a field is hedged in with bushes, and the path thereof covered with thorns, whereby no man may travail: it is shut up, and is appointed to be devoured with fire.

Isaiah 26

IN that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy,

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee,

With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Let favour he shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

They are dead, they shall not live, they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.

We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Isaiah 26:20 is, and will be, a comfort to the generation that lives through the beast, false prophet, antiChrist. We have the promise of YHVH Sabaoth that we will be protected from the plagues, demonic locusts, and righteous wrath that God will pour out on those who deny salvation available in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yeshua paid a very high price to purchase the souls of men and he alone is worthy of worship, praise, glory and honor. Scripture is clear that there is one God – I AM. Sadly, we also know that countless billions will reject the narrow way and seek to enter into the kingdom of God not through the sheep gate which is not going to happen. Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life and blessed eternity with the godhead.

Embrace Isaiah 26:20 as a kind of ark, or Goshen, protection in the lions den, fiery furnace – the wicked are to be judged and experience all that is contained in Revelation – the elect of God, the Body of Christ, will not.

If being martyred by decapitation is what that time brings we can know that the Holy Spirit will comfort and abide with us granting courage to die rather than deny our Savior and Lord. There will be supernatural things popping off all around us during the tribulation, but we will be sharing the gospel with all that will listen.

The elect will never be removed from this earth, only the wicked. The same God that protects us now will be with us throughout the tribulation and we shall overcome them by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Alleluia!
