GOD HOLDS YOU OVER THE PIT OF HELL (Continued)
You have an extraordinary opportunity right now. This is a day when Christ has thrown the door of His mercy wide open. He is standing right now, calling and crying with a loud voice to poor sinners.
Many are flocking to Him, and coming into the kingdom of God. They are coming every day from the east, west, north and south. Many that were in the same miserable condition that you are in, are now happy and blessed. Their hearts are filled with love for Him who has loved them and washed them from their sins in His own blood. They are right now rejoicing in the hope of the glory of God.
How terrible it is to be left behind on a day like today. Look at these others feasting, while you are perishing with hunger? Look at how many are rejoicing and singing with joy in their hearts, while you have reason to weep and cry with a heart full of sorrows? How can you rest one moment in such a condition? Are not the souls here as precious as the souls in such a condition? Are not the souls here as precious as the souls of the people at Suffield, when they are flocking every day to Christ?
There are many here who have lived long and full lives and are not born again. You are aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and have done nothing in your entire lives but store up wrath against yourselves. Oh, your case is especially extremely dangerous. Your guilt and hardness of heart are very great. Do you not see how many people your age have passed over and left unconverted in this special time of God’s mercy? You need to think about this and awake from your sleep. You cannot bear the fierceness and anger of the infinite God.
TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO BE BORN AGAIN
And you young men and women, will you also neglect this precious time as so many others your age are renouncing all youthful lusts, and coming to Christ? You have a special and extraordinary opportunity. However, if you neglect it, you will soon end up like those who wasted their precious days of youth in sin, and are now in a dreadful state of blindness and hardness of heart. Likewise, you children here who are unconverted, do you not realize that you are going to hell to bear the dreadful anger of this God who is angry with you every day and every night? Will you be content to be the children of the devil, when so many other children are converted and are the holy and happy children of the King of kings?
Again, let everyone, men and women of all ages, young people and children who are still outside of Christ, and hanging over the pit of hell now listen to the loud calls of God’s word and His providence. This is the acceptable day of the Lord. A day of such great joy to some will doubtless be a day of vengeance to others. A man’s heart will harden, and his guilt will increase on a day like this if he neglects his soul.
Never has there been such a great danger of people being given over to hardness of heart and blindness of mind. God seems to be gathering in His elect in all parts of the land. Most likely, most of the adults that will ever be saved will be saved very soon. It will be as it was during the great outpouring of the Spirit on the Jews in the days of the apostles. The elect will come, and the rest will be blinded.
How is it with you?
Will you eternally curse this day, and will you curse the day you were born?
Will you see this season of the pouring out of God’s Spirit, and wish that you had died and gone to hell before you had seen it?
It is assuredly now as it was in the days of John the Baptist. The axe is laid at the root of the tree, and every tree which brings not forth good fruit will be cut down and cast into the fire.
Now, I cry to everyone who is outside of Christ, awake and flee from the wrath to come. The anger of Almighty God is undoubtedly hanging over many in this congregation. Let every one fly out of Sodom: “Haste and escape for your lives, look not behind you, escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed.”

During The Great Awakening in America, Jonathan Edwards preached in Enfield, Connecticut in 1741. Today mega churches ear ticklers are not undershepherds of the Lord Jesus Christ, for such have gone the way of Korah (Numbers 16:1, Jude 11). Due to their name it and claim it, blab it and grab it gospel of prosperity these wolves are laughing all the way to the bank.
What is easy believism? Repeat a prayer, get baptized, and no matter how you live salvation can’t be lost. That is a lie from the pit of hell. These wolves, posing as teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, claim we are under grace and are to disregard the command to obeying the commands of God, remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, and working out our salvation with fear and trembling striving to live holy. However, Jesus said, “without holiness no man shall see God” (Hebrews 12:14).
Seeking men’s accolades and his and her leer jets these false gospel teachers pontificate self-improvement, self-esteem and self-actualization. Theirs is a schizophrenic god juxtaposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Lord Yeshua is very clear, “without holiness no man shall see God (Hebrews 12:14). Yeshua said, “If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15). The Apostle Paul warned of another gospel and said, “let them be accursed” (Galatians 1:8); and, Jude strongly condemns false teachers as being destined for the same punishment of the fallen angels.
Love motivates me to share this sermon by Edwards as a clarion call to those yet lost, dead in trespasses and sins. I implore you to read the bible and ask the Father to bless you with wisdom from above and that the Holy Spirit teach you and imprint the Word of God (a title of Yeshua by the way) on your heart.
